Born in West London in 1989 to Polish parents, from the moment she could hold a pencil, Natalia was writing stories and illustrating them. Unfortunately, the writing thing didn’t work out, but it wasn’t a total loss, because a love for art continued- fuelled originally by stories, then by the book ‘Faeries’ by Brian Froud and Alan Lee, which opened her eyes to the uses of watercolour. By this time she was hooked.

Often inspired by music, life events, jewellery, the colours red and turquoise, baroque style designs, religious statues, eyes, comics, and the macabre, an interest, and eventual love for tattoo art and culture started when she was doing her GCSE’s. This developed through further years of studying under a very passive art teacher who once described her in a report as “possessed by odd ideas.”

She finished art A-level and moved on to complete a BTEC Art Foundation Course at the University for the Creative Arts in Epsom.  Natalia considered furthering her art studies but opted instead (impatience is a virtue) to pursue tattooing actively and began building a portfolio to take to tattoo studios around London. After many a rejection a friend recommended ‘Ouch!’ Tattoo in Ealing Broadway, where she was told to work hard and “keep in touch”. Over the next few months this is exactly what she did, going to visit them to make sure they hadn’t forgotten about her, and to show them new works. This paid off and Nat was offered an apprenticeship a few days before Christmas 2009. Early 2010 sees her start at the Ealing Broadway branch, working hard and evidently loving every minute.
